Data Deletion

Your data, your choice — GDPR Art. 17

Your Right to Erasure

Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), you have the right to request the deletion of your personal data. This page explains how to request data deletion from the “International Law of Love” campaign operated by Soldout Media SRL.

This applies to all data collected through the website sxs.soldoutrecords.ro, including data submitted through the signature form and data collected via the Instagram Graph API for contest verification.

How to Request Data Deletion

Send an email to the following address with the subject line “Data Deletion Request”:

Request Deletion via Email

In your email, please include:

  • The email address you used when you signed the declaration
  • Your first and last name as entered in the form
  • A clear statement that you wish to have your data deleted

We need this information to locate and verify your record before deletion.

What Data Will Be Deleted

Upon a verified deletion request, we will permanently remove the following from our database:

  • Your first name and last name
  • Your email address
  • Your age
  • Your phone number
  • Your address and city
  • Your Instagram handle
  • Your TikTok handle (if provided)
  • Any UTM tracking data linked to your signature
  • Your contest participation status and any associated Instagram post data (permalink, caption, followers count)
  • Any email event records (welcome email, early access sent status)

What We May Retain

After deletion, we may retain only:

  • Anonymized aggregate data — the total signature count may not decrease, as it is stored as an aggregate number, not derived from individual records.
  • Legal records — if you won a contest prize, we are legally required to retain prize distribution records for tax purposes for a minimum of 5 years under Romanian fiscal law. These records will be stored separately and securely.

Processing Time

We will process your deletion request within 30 days of receiving a valid request, as required by GDPR Article 12(3).

You will receive a confirmation email at an alternative email address (if provided) or a final confirmation to your registered email before the deletion is executed.

Facebook & Instagram Data Deletion

Our application (“International Law Tracker”) uses the Instagram Graph API to read publicly available post data for contest verification. We do not store your Facebook login credentials or Instagram password.

Revoking App Access on Instagram

To revoke our app’s access to your Instagram data:

  1. Open Instagram on your phone
  2. Go to Settings & Privacy
  3. Tap Website Permissions (or “Apps and Websites”)
  4. Find “International Law Tracker”
  5. Tap “Remove”

This will immediately revoke our app’s access to your Instagram account. To also delete the Instagram data we have already stored in our database (username, post permalink, caption, followers count), send us the deletion email described above.

Facebook Data Deletion Callback

As required by Meta Platform Terms, this page serves as the official Data Deletion Callback URL for our Facebook/Instagram application. When you remove our app from your Facebook or Instagram settings, Meta will notify us, and we will delete any data associated with your Facebook/Instagram user ID within 30 days.

Deletion confirmation code: After we process your deletion, you will receive a confirmation code via email that you can use to verify the deletion was completed. You can check the status by contacting us at office@soldoutmedia.ro with your confirmation code.

Consequences of Data Deletion

Please be aware that data deletion is permanent and irreversible. After deletion:

  • Your signature will be removed from the declaration
  • You will no longer receive the early access email for the music video
  • If you entered the contest, your contest entry will be removed and you will no longer be eligible for the prize draw
  • Your signatory number will be retired and will not be reassigned to another person
  • You will need to sign again if you wish to re-enter the campaign
